Advent Reading

Some of you have asked what’s going on. It’s been over a month since my last post and some have wondered whether I have disappeared from this planet.

No worries. No weird alien has decided to capture me and use me as their biological testbed. I have not given up technology permanently, nor has my internet been cut-off due to excessive data consumption.

To be honest, I’ve just been extremely busy. This blog remains a hobby and work seems to have this nasty habit of interfering. In addition, I’ve committed to writing almost weekly blog entries for our Church’s blog, commenting on the sermon series. You can find some more recent musings of mine over there. All that being said, I just haven’t found sufficient time to write anything for my own little corner of the blogosphere.

Until I find the time again, may I suggest perhaps reading a series I did last year during the season of advent on the history of the Antiphons.

A suggested reading might be as follows:

That brings us to Christmas Eve, at which we celebrate His coming.
I do promise however, to write a follow-up article here by early January. At that we celebrate the Epiphany and I have come to notice that in our Protestant circles this feast is somewhat overlooked. When I grew up, it was one of the major events and always a fun time as a child. So look forward to that little article. Spoiler alert: It will even have a recipe included. For those that have come to enjoy my cooking, perhaps this may entice you to come back.
Until then, I would like to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas.
