Stop deflecting !

I have seen too many posts and questions lately trying to deflect the issue at hand. And yes, I’m speaking of what happened last weekend. Stop hiding behind other issues. Speak up and take a stand.

What happens when you age a beer ?

With Goose Island’s announcement that they will start flash pasteurizing their beloved and highly sought after Bourbon County barrel aged beers, I’ve seen many questions how this pasteurization will affect the aging potential of these potent beers.
To be able to gauge this impact, perhaps we need to understand what exactly happens when one decides to age a beer first. So here goes.

Why #OneCommunity matters

An immigrant’s perspective

US Flag with Black RibbonThese last two days have been despicable. As a first generation immigrant who moved here almost 20 years ago, what I have seen in the last 48 hours has been appalling. The amount of intolerance, hate, violence and accusations are more reminiscent of a war zone than of the country I have to come to appreciate and love.

What happened in Belgium is complicated

Many people have asked about my reaction to the horrible terrorist attacks in Brussels on March 22nd, 2016. They hear American news reports about ghettos in Brussels where the police are afraid to go. About Muslims rejecting Belgium. How Belgium and especially Brussels is the cesspit of Europe. About that “North Texas Craft Beer Bubble”

“Pick and Choose” Christianity ?

I haven’t written a post about my faith in a while, but the recent dramatic events across the
world, especially in Paris, and the reactions I have observed, prompted me to write this.

Right now a dozen or more governors have declared they will not be accepting Syrian refugees. I am not necessarily surprised that many of my non-Christian friends may praise this, but I am surprised about the amount of support it gets from believers in Jesus Christ in my network. So this is mainly directed at my fellow Christians. If you are not, you are more than welcome to read this, but note that this is not really directed at you. Continue reading
