It has been over a year since I last wrote anything on my blog. Why ?
As some of you may know, I have had a separate blog to discuss matters of religion and theology for quite a while. And I have thoroughly enjoyed writing the articles, doing the research and engage in deep discussions about the Christian faith. Yet over the years I have lived in Texas, many friends have asked me about my opinions or thoughts about my other favorite hobbies: books, food and beer. Or even more general questions such as: “What’s it like living in Texas? ” or “Are you ever coming back to Belgium? ”
The self imposed blogging hiatus was nothing more than a result of being occupied with a lot of other things. Changing jobs, fixing up the house, newly rediscovered interests such as sharing my food recipes, exploring the growing American beer market, and even resume the home brewing experiments.
It just never felt right to use my other blog to share the other “finer things of life in Texas”. After all it has a specific purpose and goal. Hence I decided to start a second blog to just share whatever is happening during regular life in Texas. This should allow me to cover the many new Texas breweries or the exploits of the never ending hunt for the perfect Texas BBQ, without getting in the middle of a discussion on heavy theological matters.
I did copy down all the content from the old blog and will slowly start phasing it out. So if you have any RSS feeds, links or are following that blog separately, you may want to update your links to this blog.
For those that have asked, I will share recipes here too 😉 Anyone looking for my recipe on the cream of mushroom soup ? Or the annual Yule log I make ? How about that Epiphany Cake ? Or perhaps you just are interested in keeping up with the growing craft beer world. We’ll cover that too.. as a matter of fact, why don’t we start there !
